Project: GAOWiki

On the GAOWiki project, I successfully investigated, configured, tested, launched and helped train the staff on a collaborative content platform for the internal use of analysts at the Government Accountability Office.
As the IT project manager, I was able to not only lead the successful technical integration, but working closely with the end users I made sure that the project was aimed squarely at addressing their needs, not simply meeting the baseline technical requirements. The most formidable challenge was gaining organizational acceptance and agreement among many stakeholders with sometimes competing interests. Our approach featured a careful balance of bottom-up, user-requirements driven implementation and director level championship. This resulted in over 1,000 contributing users, a success that earned many awards for the project team members, including myself.
